Restoring Faith in Humanity: One Burrito, Email, Policy, Sport- At a Time.

I took my Carnegie Mellon thermos to Starbucks and ordered a tall vanilla latte— they filled the entire thermos. That is definitely equivalent to at least a grande or venti. Not to mention you get 10cents off. Moral of the story here is: use a reuseable cup/mug/thermos! Scores of benefits for you and the earth.

We all love Chipotle! Well, I like to eat Chipotle once in a while, preferably once every few months is ideal. Chipotle reminds me of Pittsburgh so much…haha. Well this article makes me love chipotle more. You are doing something right if the agriculture industry is getting mad. We do not NEED growth hormones in our FOOD. we do NOT. no matter what the justification is– I don’t believe it.

Seriously, people like Ladar Levison restore my faith in humanity. His secure email service, used by Edward Snowden, shut down recently because he would rather shut it down than give access to all his security encryption process/information to the FBI. That is admirable. And the fact that they asked for much more information than they needed (yet again) just shows that the limit for spying on individuals has been breached.

Obamacare obamacare obamacare. “The irony is that these states that are rejecting Medicaid expansion — many of them Southern — are the very places where the concentration of poverty and lack of health insurance are the most acute,” said Dr. H. Jack Geiger, a founder of the community health center model. “It is their populations that have the highest burden of illness and costs to the entire health care system.” Pretty self explanatory article.

At least 94 dead, 250 missing from a migrant boat that sank near Italy. This is really tragic and sad. Migrant workers have been fleeing from countries such as Syria and TUnisia and it is just sad overall. “Last year, almost 500 people were reported dead or missing on the crossing from Tunisia to Italy, the U.N. refugee office UNHCR says. Syrians fleeing civil war have added to the numbers.”

The liberalization of the Cuban Economy is leading to changes. But will a political liberalizatin follow? Interesting article on the opening up of the Cuban baseball team.

Hope you enjoyed! Cheers,
